Where and how to place the copyright symbol and notice on your work The copyright symbol, ©, signifies that you are the owner of the copyright to a particular work. You do not have to wait until you have filed a copyright application to use the symbol on your work.
The copyright notice should be placed in a prominent location on your work. It should include the copyright symbol and read as follows:
Copyright © 2024 [COPYRIGHT OWNERS NAME]. All Rights Reserved.
In the example provided, the word "copyright" along with the copyright symbol should be the first part of the notice.
In place of [COPYRIGHT OWNER’S NAME] in the sample copyright notice above, you should insert the names of individual, several individuals, a business entity, or the name of your band and/or organization of the copyright holder(s).
You can type the copyright symbol in most word processors, simply place a lowercase c in between parenthesis (c). Most word processor programs, such as Microsoft Word or Apple’s Pages, will automatically turn this into the appropriate copyright symbol, ©. In windows you can press the Win + : keys then select the symbol option on top of window. Look for © click it and it will place it wherever your curser is blinking.
